Limited & Numbered edition of 959 pieces world-wide! This version pays tribute to the European version of this watch with its clean solid black dial.A tribute to the original Memovox Deep Sea watch which was originally presented in 1959. This was the first automatic diving watch to feature an Alarm function. At the time, in response to the new sport of diving Jaeger-LeCoultre developed a watch entirely designed to meet the needs of divers. Such a creation was as exceptional at the time as the acoustic indicator designed to inform divers when to begin their gradual return to the surface - a feature which greatly increased the safety of the sport's enthusiasts. In tribute to the original watch and in order to preserve its vintage charm, the Memovox Tribute to Deep Sea uses a Plexiglas crystal and the color of the luminous material has been carefully selected for the triangles, index markers, alarm indicator and hands. This watch features: Polished stainless steel case. Matte black dial. Index hour markers - luminescent material is made to have an older/patina look, to duplicate the original version as close as possible. Printed white index minute track. Printed white dot markings on the inner perimeter of the dial for setting the alarm. Polished steel rectangle with needle tips hand, filled with the same aged color luminescent paint. Fixed bezel with luminous triangles at the 15 minute marks & Arabic Numerals for the rest of the numbers. Crown at 2 o'clock position sets the alarm time & manually winds the alarm mechanism. Crown at 4 o'clock position set the time & allows for manually winding the movement. The case-back carries the motif appearing on the 1959 watch, featuring a frogman surrounded by bubbles. Comes in a retro looking JLC box - the same design used in the original series. Perforated calfskin leather strap with criss-cross pattern. Jaeger LeCoultre caliber 956 beats at 28,800 vph, contains 23 jewels, made of 268 parts & has an approximate power reserve of 45 hours. AKA: q2028470, 2028470, q202.84.70
