A new addition to our inventory is this very interesting size 12 HAMILTON #912. What makes this particular version so interesting is the unusual and uncommon clockwise rotating 60 second window instead of the normal round sub dial with 60 second sweep hand. Sort of a pre-cursor to today's digital timepieces. The 46mm open face case is a Wadsworth 14k gold filled model inscribed with Hamilton Watch Co. on the inner case back. The case back features two hinged lids while the front crystal bezel is a pop off. It is in very good condition with only light scratches from over the years. The crystal itself is quite clear and scratch-free. The dial is a satin silver metallic and does show some pitting while the Deco Arabic numerals are still bold and dark black. The black spade hands also show some aging. The movement is a signed Hamilton 912 featuring 17 jewels adjusted and stamped with serial # 3431324 which would date this watch to circa 1939. The movement is running smooth and keeping time. Due to its age and mechanical nature we do not warranty its future performance. While there is nothing rare about the #912 models, the rotating seconds' window adds a distinctive feature to separate it from its numerous cousins. 39.8dwt loc oc
