Antique Russia pocket watch Kirovskie. Just to be sure, the movement has been cleaned, conditioned and regulated by a master Watchmaker (works good and precise) Year: 1938 Size: 4,8cm / 2" diameter 1st State watch Factory. Founded in 1930 under orders from Stalin, the First State Watch Factory (Moscow) a name of Kirov was the first Serious Soviet watch and mechanical movement manufacturer. The history of the First Moscow Watch Factory is indissolubly connected with the history of Russian and Soviet aviation. All Soviet battle airplanes of WWII period were equipped with the airborne clocks made by the 1st MWF Kirova. The Red Air Force pilots and navigators flew with watches on their wrists with the “The 1st MWF Kirova†and later the “Poljot†trademarks. Before WWII aviation clocks, stopwatches, navigator wristwatches, automobile mechanical and electric charging watches, navy chronometers, ship deck watches and other watch movements were put into production for the benefit of the national economy. At the end of the twentieth (1927-1929) Russia (USSR) searched the ways to develop its own watch industry and bought two American watch factories: Dueber Hampton Watch & Co.(Hampden) and Ansonia Clock Company. In April 1930 The 1st State watch Factory was founded on the grounds of the former tobacco factory "Zvezda" in Moscow.
