SULTANA watches are part of the very heart of Swiss watchmaking history. Founded in 1937 in La Chaux-de fonds by Mr. Paul Gaston, Sultana specialized in making elegant and stylish very high quality timepieces. Their watches are an intergral part of the Swiss watchmaking history. Stylish interpretations and classic charm have earned the Swiss brand huge respect. This is an 18k gold solid mechanical wrist watch. It has a Swiss movement with 15 rubies and is clearly marked 18k on the back. The band is made of 14k gold and is hallmarked 585 on the clasp. The clasp is very secure. The watch is 6†long and will come with a 14k gold safety chain. Over the years SULTANA has been awarded a number of prizes at international events like the winning of the Grand Prix at the Internationale de Tessalonique in Greece in 1939. DESCRIPTION CASE & BEZEL: The case and bezel are solid 18 karat yellow gold. The case has two gold lugs that the bracelet attaches to. The back of the case is signed, "18K", "0.750.", “66053†“158†and has an etched head symbol. The side of the bezel has another etched symbol which I can not decipher. DIAL: The dial has Numeral Hour Markers at 12, 3, 6 and 9. I believe the dial is original to the watch. CRYSTAL: The crystal appears to be glass or mineral, and does have scratches. It is not original to the watch. The crystal needs buffing to remove the scratches or maybe replaced. CROWN: The gold crown is original to the watch. The crown pulls out to set the time. MOVEMENT: The movement 15 jewels. This movement has been serviced and cleaned and keeps perfect time. BRACELET: The bracelet is original to the watch. The bracelet is signed at the clasp "585â€. The watch has been serviced and works perfectly. Additional pictures are available upon request.
