This is an adorable circa 1950's small woven straw purse that is not only also lined in woven straw but hand-embroidered in contrasting straw in almost deco motifs in pale and med. green, red, brown, yellow and cream straw. There is an interior tag which reads " Hand Embroidered Made in Japan" There are two handles and a strap closure that is secured with a ball of wood. The sides have inverted pleating to make the flat looking purse have more depth. I love that this little gem is all hand-done! SIZE: * the fabric part: width is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" high * t7 3/4" long x 6" high x 1 1.2" deep CONDITION: * Excellent. It looks never used. the interior is completely clean and crisp. there is a tiny dark spot long the straw on the lower back (see photo) but it looks like the fault is in the natural straw. All vintage items are always sold "as is"
