1940's - early 1950's. The rectangular style is as uncommon as its generous capacity. Despite the classic, structured appearance, this satchel is soft and easy to wear against the body. This bag is very substantial and well made. The scales are large and colored a glossy, dark Sable Brown. Please note that this bag is a lovely, dark brown color with some red to it. This satchel comes to you in VERY GOOD, PRE-OWNED CONDITION with the exterior scales/skin still very supple; without dryness or noticeable peeling. This is a two-handled bag and both handles are sturdy, pliable and in no danger of cracking or breaking. Bag closes securely with a tab/popper snap. The interior is lined in a smooth, light brown kid leather that has slight scuffing (the nature of this type of soft leather). There are two, large horizontal compartments.
