This is an exquisite timepiece ~ amazing detail and it keeps perfect time! The case is simply stunning with wonderful etched gold work all over ~ it just shines! The front has a beautiful crest just waiting for that special initial! The back has a hand etched scene of a church, a tree and water...the detail is very impressive. The watch is solid 14k yellow gold, it is stamped Warranted 14k U.S Assay, Elgin Nat Watch Co., Safety Pinion, 2256929, B.W.C.Co 401041, the inside lid is signed 'From Jim to Fallie July 15th 1986'. The inscription is very light and can be filled, polished and re-signed with your own special message ~ along with the wonderful crest on the front bearing no initial yet. The watch measures 1 5/8" around, the wind and bail add 1 1/8" to the length. The watch weighs 58.7g. This watch works perfectly, it is in sensational vintage condition and there are no scratches or marks that cannot be polished back to gift giving perfection. The crystal face is very clean.
