Romain Jerome Titanic-DNA Automatic Oxy Black Watch, limited edition of 2012 pieces, round black PVD coated steel case (46mm diameter) with stabilized Titanic extreme rusted bezel, black rubber strap with PVD folding clasp (also avalible in crocodile), deep black dial with coal recovered from the Titanic and Arabic numerals, running seconds subdial at 9 o'clock, 23 jewel calibre #C22RJ51 self-winding mechanical movement, 42 hour power reserve, water resistant to 50 meters. The Titanic, the most famous ocean liner of them all, and now brought back to life almost a hundred years later with the Romain Jerome Titanic DNA watch. A complex and confidential fusion of materials salvaged from the wreck of the Titanic that lies 3840 meters under the sea, and from the Harland & Wolff shipyard in Belfast where the Titanic?s life began almost a century ago. Officially certified and guaranteed, RJ-Romain Jerome has used their expertise to transform coal, steel and rust into integral parts of each timepiece. The rusted steel bezel is a combination of two metals separated by a century of time. Rust, once an enemy of the industry but now RJ has devised an unique process to stop the rust corroding any further, a first in the watchmaking industry. Original coal dust has been skillfully and expertly applied onto the dial to give it a deep dark hue with a charred texture. The dial itself features hands inspired by the Titanic?s anchor and the counters on steam engine dials. Fittingly limited to 2,012 pieces.
