Founded in 1886 in the Swiss Jura Mountains, Mathey-Tissot has built a reputation for providing a high quality of products with an impeccable personal service. This gentleman's Vintage 1940s Mathey-Tissot Chronograph showcases the brand's sophisticated attention to design and detail. A square 14k rose gold case surrounds the white dial that houses the two registers of the chronograph; 30 minute register at three and seconds register at nine. A pair of metallic blue hands marks the manual winding Valjoux 69 caliber movement, which is shown through the painted black Arabic numerals as markers. Created in 1939, the Valjoux 69 movement is considered the finest chronograph movement. Finishing this watch is the green alligator bracelet and gold buckle. Watch is accompanied by the original Mathey-Tissot box. This circa 1940s watch is in fair vintage condition. The case, case back and buckle exhibit scuffing. The dial showcases deterioration and tarnishing. The bracelet exhibits wear.
