Item #4 After several name changes and financial difficulties Hamilton Watch Company was founded in 1892 and operated out of Lancaster PA until 1969 when they were purchased by a Swiss Company and continued to use the Hamilton name but were produced in Switzerland. This self winding wrist watch is from the Swiss owned Hamilton c.1975 but may have still been produced in the Lancaster plant. The case and back are both 10 karat yellow gold and the crystal is lucite. As you can see in the picture the case back has been engraved "TJB" . Since the case is gold, the engraving could probably polished out and or replaced with a personal engraving. The CLD on the dial represents a system for water and dust resistance that Hamilton developed in the late 1960s. The watch is attached to a stitched brown calf strap. Movement # 672 Case size: 32.5mm lug size: 16.5mm This watch is running accurately over a 24 hour period but it is recommended that you purchase the flat rate clean, oil and regulate service to get the 6 month warranty.
