If you peruse the many websites that have vintage pocket watches for sale, you will be hard pressed to find many with the fancy shape of this Art Deco Elgin. You will come across many rounds, cushions, octagons and even hexagons, but few such as this unusual one. The 45mm 14k gold filled Wadsworth case is a rounded triangle in appearance with indented corners. The case itself as well as the crystal are in fine condition with only the light scratching which can be expected from years of use. The satin silver dial is in good condition and the black Deco Arabic markers are bold and unique. Steel blue spade hands add a splash of contrast to the stark silver and black facade. A matching steel blue seconds hand operates flawlessly in the sub dial at 6 o'clock. The engine which is inside this remarkable case is signed Elgin Watch Co.and stamped with serial #28650726 dating this watch to 1925. It is running strong and keeping time but we cannot offer a guarantee as to its future performance.
