This is a wonderful Art Deco pocket watch made by the Elgin National Watch Company in a case marked 10K gold-filled. The watch works are clearly marked with the serial number 29774788 that corresponds to a 17-jewel watch manufactured by Elgin in 1926. In addition to the serial number, the works are also engraved with Elgin National Watch Co. and Elgin also appears on the watch face. The gold-filled case is quite elegant with the serial number of 7558494 and ornately decorated edges and bail. There is also a maker's mark of Wadsworth Quality along with 10 Karat Gold Filled and the case serial number. This lovely piece does run when wound however only for a few hours. The watch is otherwise in very good condition with the case opening crisply, the hinge works properly, the crystal intact and the hands and face very clean with just a slight darkening around the numbers 2 & 3 on the face. There is no evidence of brassing on the gold filled case, the watch weighs 2.2 ounces and is 1- inches in diameter. With a little servicing this Elgin pocket watch would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
