Here is a Victorian American Waltham Silver Men's Pocket Watch. The serial #6553*** indicates a date of 1894. This 16 Jewel watch is crafted in 900 fine coin silver, and the interior states that it is a 'Safety Barrel' and 'Royal' timepiece. Also marked on the interior of the piece is an engraving on one inside panel, "Sr. M. Francis Jerome from Her Father". This piece has at least 7 service marks within indicating regular service throughout its life. The case measures approximately 41mm across. The exterior features a small floral design centered on one side, and a seal-like design in the center bottom area of the other side, which may have had initials engraved at one time. Except for minor surface scratches, the exterior is in great condition. The small adornments are slightly worn down, as this piece was likely used quite a bit. The dial has some slight eggshell cracking on it, please see photos for further information. The movement is working when regularly wound and keeps proper time.
