Scarce two star rating ** mans 16 size Victorian antique Art Deco 15 jewel International Watch Company IWC- JWC Jones Caliber pocket watch. 800 silver German made case has rose gilt plated bezels maker marked "JWC" and hallmarked "800" with crown and crescent moon. Hinge front to open and double hinge back to open. Single sunk dial with Fraternal enameled crest- Alpha Lambda Kai. Original glass crystal. Case has engine turned engraving with a cartouche suitable for engraving. Case measures 1-15/16" in diameter. Movement is stem wind pin set 15 jewel gilt serial number 202894. Case is hallmarked (two lids on the back, outer and inner protective cover- "800" with German and Swiss markings- crescent moon and crown, and right facing grouse bird in the small article as well as large article designation. My best guess on the use of both German and Swiss hallmarks is that this was Swiss made for the German market. Both cases and the movement are maker signed "JWC". In excellent over all condition, with evident rose gold plating loss mostly along the bottom where the hinges of the case join- faces up beautifully. The gilt on the movement is stunning gleaming and bright. Circa late 1800s.
