The stop watch/pocket watch shown here is dedicated to Fred Archer & Iroquois--the jockey and mount combination that won the Epsom derby in England in 1881. I can't quite make out the manufacturer's name on the dial--it looks like "Poitevin fab." and is from Geneva. The watch is approximately an 18 size, with the Sterling Silver case measuring about 2 1/8" in diameter. The watch is running and keeping time, with the stopwatch function also operating properly, and is generally in very good condition, with some of the enamel missing from the horse. The inside dust cover is engraved PEDRO DEL RIOS LONDRES 1882, although the hallmark on the case appears to be from the early 1900's. Buyer pays $8.00 shipping in the U.S.A. with insurance included, International buyers Pay $35.00 with insurance included. NY state residents pay 8% sales tax.
