Our steampunk necklaces are made with real antique watch movements. This pendant features a vintage watch piece with exposed gears and real ruby bearings with a whimsical Victorian style honey bee accent. ABOUT THE DESIGN: Bees, Butterflies, and other insects were popular, along with other natural themes throughout the Victorian Era. Butterflies were particularly popular in 1894, appearing in jeweled pendants, brooches, dress prints and hair jewelry. The original jeweled versions this design is based upon are breathtaking - you can find them in the jewelry archive of the Victoria & Albert museum. MEASUREMENTS & MATERIALS: * The nickel-free brass chain measures approximately 20" * The pendant is just under 1.25" (about 30mm) in diameter. * All items come in a gift box Compass Rose Design revives historic heirlooms into wearable art.
