As you can tell, I have trouble getting accurate color of shiny metal in my digital pictures. The watch has a shiny mirror polished silver colored case. The pocket watch has an accurate battery operated quartz movement. the cover opens by pressing the button on top of the stem. Pull the stem knob on top gently to set the watch. The case diameter is a about 2", a larger pocket watch size. The pattern looks like it was machined rather than cast, very sharp. The cover has a small roman numeral clock ring arounf the center hole which is not open, but closed with a piece of clear plastic glass. The white face with black Roman numbers (there is a second hand) is easy to read. The hands are a fancy Victorian to turn of the century (the last one, 1899 - 1901, not this newfangled one) : ) Edwardian. The stem is at 3 o'clock. You read the watch sideways. The chain can be worn on the belt or pants beneath the belt or you can take the t-bar out of the retaining hoop and put it in a button hole and the watch in a shirt or vest pocket. Th echain is usually inserted from the front and the button often buttoned around it, although I've seen old 1800's era photos where the vest button is left unbuttoned. You should be able to do either with this set up. And there we have it. This really is a sharp looking watch suitable for everyday or dress wear. All new, all decent and all classy and at a great price. This will make a great gift for yourself or that special person with classic good taste in your life. Many Thanks!
