A new innovative & contemporary line developed & manufactured in-house by Vacheron Constantin. Named after the companies historical address dating back since 1873-1874. Case: Titanium Case with a completely brushed/satin finish. Cushion shaped. Composed of 38 individual components. Dial: Darker tinted semi-transparent sapphire crystal dial covering a Ruthenium plated movement, giving the dial a dark grey color. Laser engraved 'VACHERON CONSTANTIN GENEVE' & some of the hour markers (1,2,4,5,7,8,10,11) & 'SWISS MADE' all filled with white ink. Laser engraved Day & Date alpha/numeric digits filled with white ink. Power Reserve Indicator above the 6 o'clock position. Some Laser engraved text without filler. 12,3,6 & 9 Arabic numeral hour markers & the Maltese Cross Logo are applied to the dial by a complex & time consuming process called 'Galvanic growth of nickel' which begins with the deposit of base materials on the sapphire crystal & then the build-up of metallic-nickel is done according the desired shapes (in this case the 12,3,6,9 & the Maltese Cross). Once the process is finished the nickle plating is polished & colored in Rhodium or Rose Gold according the desired finish. A process called 'Metallization' is sprayed onto the surface of the dial with a fine deposit of white gold to form micro-text around the day & date sub-dials. The micro-text is a translated extract from a letter written by Mr. Jaques-Barthélémy Vacheron on March 21 1829 to his friend & associate Mr. François Constantin: '…we continually work to improve our quality so that you will often have this kind of rich news, you may rest assured that our watchmaking is worth more in quality if only by all the improvements that we have made, and we still have much more to do before reaching the goal we set ourselves.†The dial also feature a small 'sun' design which is also produces my the 'Metallization process'. The 'sun design is inspired by the clock on the Tour de l’Ile in Place Bel-Air, in the Saint-Gervais district of Geneva. At one time, all the watchmakers on the square set their watches and clocks by it. Finally 'Security Transparent Film' is stuck to the the dial crystal. The 'Security Transparent Film' has micro-characters, uses security inks & has UV markings using invisible ink which is only visible under UV light. The security transparent film has a pattern of concentric lines representing the spiral of time. These also serve as a seconds track. These lines/rays are printed alternately with light grey and sepia (reddish/brownish) ink or with light grey and white ink - depending on the model. In addition the security transparent film has a pattern of hundreds of Maltese Crosses and concentric circles. Depending on the version, it is printed with white or black ink. Other details: Passport - each watch comes with a real passport identifying the exact model number, case number & movement serial number. The Passport is also the Certificate of Authenticity & contains the service card (which is filled in by the VC watchmaker when the time for service is necessary). The Passport incorporates security elements against forgery such as UV marking in invisible ink: The pattern on the cover is printed in invisible ink and can only be seen with a UV lamp (black light). Line engraving and offset printing with highly technical security inks. Optical Variable Ink: The sun representing the Tour de l’Ile is in OVI, an ink that changes color with the angle of the document. Hot stamping silvered: Thermal printing of silver ink on paper. Latent image: Image that is visible depending on the angle of the document. Laser perforation: For printing the passport’s unique number. Micro-printing: Printing of micro-texts on different pages of the passport: “Since 1755, Vacheron Constantin has been creating exceptional and precious watches that combine tradition, the finest craftsman ship innovation.†Transvision: Two incomplete images are printed on either side of a page and brought together using transparency. Each watch comes with an additional matching crocodile leather strap & deployant buckle. USB Key: The USB is packed with useful information such as An interactive tool available in 11 languages, a word of introduction from the CEO, Watch instructions, Watch data sheet, A “Did you know…†list on the characteristics of the watch, Press photos and animated sequences, Limited international guarantee, Passport details, Step-by-step description of the complete service & much more... The watch comes in the newly designed box with a built in window - so that the watch is viewable even though the watch is boxed. Comes with a more compact & practical travel pouch. Movement: VC Caliber 2475sc ruthenium (dark colored) finish. Beats at 28,800 vph, contains 27 jewels & has an approximate Power Reserve of 43 hours. Each movement is stamped with the Geneva Quality Hallmark AKA: 85050000t9341
