The city’s Court Clock-makers and Inspectors were responsible for determining the correct time. The current time was measured astronomically and then a precision pendulum clock was set accordingly. Then with the aid of a few particularly accurate pocket watches, the correct time was further distributed down the line. Watchmakers, scientists, and railroad officials were among the key users of this high-precision service.This watch features: Polished 18kt rose gold case. Solid matte silver dial. Painted black Roman Numeral hour markers & minutes/seconds chapter ring. Polished rose gold hour, minutes & power reserve indicator hands. Complications: Power Reserve sub-dial indicator located to the right side of the dial. Zero-Restart small seconds hand sub-dial located to the left side of the dial. The seconds hand can be reset to zero by pressing the button located on the case edge at the 2 o'clock position. This allows the watch to be easily synchronized to a accurate & precise time instrument. Once the button is pressed down the hand resets to zero, while the button is pressed down the hand will hold the zero position, only restarting upon release of the button. A.
