Made by the Swiss luxury watch company Eterna, this is the iconic Eterna Matic, desirable both for the high quality Swiss movement and for the very slim profile, at the time the thinnest automatic movement wristwatch made. This watch is in beautiful condition and running order. Case is 18k yellow gold. Face is pearly iridescent with gold hands and marks. Screw down back. Glass crystal. Working date mechanism. Case measures 35 mm diameter. Watch strap is a dark brown leather/lizard skin. Although there were no photos taken, I have since unscrewed the back and the marks inside the case are: ETERNA WATCH CO. SWISS 18K .750 and 352. The total watch/band weight is 42 grams, so probably 30-35 grams for the watch. The watch was serviced and the date mechanism repaired on May,2011 by Motion in Time, NY,NY (copy of receipt will be included with watch). The watch runs smoothly and accurately. From Wikipedia: "Probably the most famous Eterna watch was their Eterna-matic. This watch was launched in 1948. The design of the automatic winding was one of Eterna's greatest designs. The rotor ran on small ball bearings making it very efficient, hence the trademark of five ball bearings. The Eterna-matic continued in various styles and was still available in 1998, and has indeed been relaunched."
