Here is a real brute as pocket watches go! This antique ELGIN (ca. 1885) is encased in a very uncommon and macho swing-out case. Weighing in at a hefty 97.3dwt, this nickel case can dish out the worst punishment anyone can offer, including working on the railroads! This timepiece is well over 100 years old, yet has little or no damage to the case other than ordinary light scratches. The screw off glass crystal is also extraordinarily thick with a beveled edge which has also stood the test of time with some minor scratches. Opening the unique swing-out case reveals a pristine signed ELGIN movement stamped with serial # 6437939. This engine is running strong and true. We do not however, offer a guarantee for its future performance. The signed single sunk dial is clean with no cracks or fading. The black Roman numeral markers stand out in stark contrast to the bright white of the dial. This heavyweight is waiting to join your stable of champion timepieces! Loc-oc
