This is a fabulous watch from the 1950's! Le Coultre 14 karat white gold "slim" leather band wristwatch. The face of the watch is an off white color with silver hour markers. The markers are thin silver lines, the 12,3,6,and 9 o'clock markers are slightly thicker than all other hours. The second hand is a small dial right above the 6 o'clock marker. It moves around two intersecting lines that give a very 50s or 60s feel to the watch. Below the 12 o'clock marker the Le Coultre logo is printed onto the back. The hour and second hand are thin and silver tone. The back of the case has an adorable engraving. It reads " All my love Always, Joyce 8-30-59" in a beautiful hand engraved script font. This engraving can be removed (sadface) and re engraved with a message of your choosing. Just message us for a quote :) Case is 14 karat white gold and weighs 22.5 grams with the movement. We estimate that the case is about 12 grams of that, the rest being the actual movement of the watch. The movement of the watch is wind up, meaning the crown (part you pull out to set the time) winds to charge up the watch. We had this piece overhauled by a professional watch maker a few years back. The cost of this overhaul was about $150.00. It has not been worn since and still keeps great time. We do not have access to another watch maker, so the watch is being sold in as-is condition. The black leather strap is not original to the watch, as we acquired it without a band. We have put on a brand new lizard grain handcrafted deBeer brand leather watch band. With this band the watch fits up to about a 8 1/2" wrist. This is a great watch, very reputable brand and in great condition! The engraving is so cute and gives it a little history. This would be the perfect watch for dress occasions or even working in an office everyday. Very versatile and comfortable with it's slim, low profile case!
