Sicura watches are highly sought after by collectors and date from the 1960’s – 1970’s era. The brand is noted for producing models with Space Age looks and advanced technical features for its time. Sicura, and it’s owner Ernst Schneider, are likely best known for the revival of the Breitling Watch Co from bankruptcy in the late 1970’s. Many incorrectly describe Sicura watches as being made by Breitling…this is simply not the case as the brands were distinctly separate and associated by ownership only. This Swiss made Sicura model is a 17 jewel manual wind. It features a dive bezel, date and sweep second hand. The case measures approximately 42mm x 41mm (not including the crown). A new, old stock, black strap is included with this watch. This is a manual wind watch that requires winding to operate and keep time. Although this model is noted as a dive style watch, it has not been tested for water resistance and is not guaranteed to be. This vintage watch is in good working condition and has been recently conditioned and serviced in my workshop. The bezel and crystal do show some signs of wear adding character and charm to this retro style watch. The case on this watch has been modified from the original (badly worn) chrome to a matte brass finish. The original box and papers are NOT available.
