This is such a striking watch with wonderful Art Deco style! As I love shades of green and pieces from the Art Deco era...I could not resist acquiring this watch to offer in my shop.... First, I want to mention that the watch is not running and I am hoping it can be repaired and restored to running condition. It could also be retrofitted with a quartz movement, but I think it would be wonderful if it could stay as original as possible...of course, it is beautiful enough that it could also be worn as a pendant necklace just the way it is....and the enameled chain is beautiful in it's own right! The watch pendant is six sided, with a stylized triangular shape. The face is an ivory color and has stylish black numerals and hands that appear to be a metallic blue-purple color. The crystal looks to be original and is in good condition. The crown for winding the watch is at the botton of the watch, as it hangs from it's chain. The measurements are approximately 24 mm x 27 mm at it's longest and widest points, not including the crown or the bail. The green enameling is just beautiful and is one of my favorite shades of green...kind of a grassy sap green. (please note that in my photos from some unknown trick of lighting, the enamel on the pendant watch looks more teal...in reality is is the same grassy sap green as the enameling on the chain!) The reverse of the watch pendant also has a gorgeous classically Deco style motif in black enamel...so the watch can be worn showing either side and still look lovely. I would say the enamel is in good condition for it's age, though definitely not pristine. It has some wear here and there, and most particularly at the base of the watch near the crown, where there is a little damage. (please see the zoomed-in close up macro photo #3) The silver and enamel chain is equally beautiful, I think. It's approximately 25 inches in length and features 14 enameled links in a matching green (the colors DO match, despite the difference that somehow appears in my photos!) with a wonderful twisted effect. Each enamel link is approximately 13 mm in length, and I would judge them to be in very good condition. The spring ring clasp is original and the connector is marked with a maker's mark and for .900 silver, so just a bit under out .925 sterling silver. The chain and clasp do have a rich patina. The clasp works, but not as well as I would like, so I am happy to include a new sterling silver spring ring clasp that you may replace the clasp with, if desired. (though it's a nice things to have the original clasp and I would hold on to it, even if you do decide to use the new one!) A wonderful period piece full of the style and charm of the Deco era....
