Sicura watches are highly sought after by collectors and date from the 1960’s – 1970’s era. The brand is noted for producing models with Space Age looks and advanced technical features for its time. Sicura, and it’s owner Ernst Schneider, are likely best known for the revival of the Breitling Watch Co from bankruptcy in the late 1970’s. Many incorrectly describe Sicura watches as being made by Breitling…this is simply not the case as the brands were distinctly separate and associated by ownership only. This Swiss made Sicura model is a 17 jewel manual wind. It features a stylish vertically positioned day/date. The gold tone case measures approximately 36mm x 39mm (not including the crown). A new, old stock, black leather strap is included with this watch. This is a manual wind watch that requires winding to operate and keep time. This vintage watch is in good working condition and has been recently conditioned and serviced in my workshop. The case and crystal do show some minimal signs of wear adding character and charm to this retro style watch. The original box and papers are NOT available.
