This is very nice, authentic made by the Vostok watch factory (the Russian watch maker since 1942) ·Original USSR military design – Made in Soviet Union times. Year: 80's ·Manual wind mechanical movement ·Shock resistant ·Luminous hands and markers ·Case size: 45mm x 39mm / 1,7" x 1,4" Good working and visual condition. The movement has been cleaned, conditioned and regulated by a master Watchmaker. Strap is new (unused) Also, please note this is a Vostok watch, so the crown is finicky. When you unscrew to wind, you have to apply a bit of outer pressure, otherwise, the crown screws back in. And after you pull out to set the time, you cannot just push the crown back to wind it, as it stays on time setting mode. Instead, you have to screw it in again and then unscrew to go back to winding mode. The Vostok Company was founded in 1942 when one of the Moscow watch-making plants of the First Moscow Watch Factory was evacuated to Chistopol, a small town located on the Kama River in Tatarstan. Presumable "Vostok" brand was named after the Vostok space program, which gave the initial advancement of the USSR in the Space race (as some others soviet watch brands, named to space topics in 1960s - Poljot and Raketa). The company was appointed an official supplier of watches for the Defense Department of the Soviet Union in 1965. This year also marks the creation of the well-known Komandirskie ("Commander's") watch. Watches issued to the military were marked " ," meaning "By Order of the Ministry of Defense of the USSR." These models were subject to rigorous quality control and sold exclusively through Voentorg stores, which catered to military personnel with identification
