Ball presents the world’s first diving watch with a helium release valve incorporated directly into the crown! The “Navy Experimental Diving Unit†(NEDU) is responsible for assessing systems and procedures involved in surviving hyperbaric and diving environments. The NEDU established the decompression timetables that are a vital safety reference for all divers, while Ball pioneered chronometric standards still used today. Naturally, sports, style and power all come together in this precision timekeeper, designed for use by professional divers. The rotating bezel and ergonomic contours ensure precise handling, even when wearing diving gloves. The unidirectional bezel is crafted from chromed black ceramic, for exceptional resistance to corrosion, scratches and ultraviolet. Numerals are oversized for optimal legibility. The water resistance is guaranteed to 600 meters, and the automatic helium release valve incorporated into the crown is a world first. This patented Ball innovation eradicates a surface potentially liable to warp, and thus improves the water resistance. The crown is further protected by a patented system. Just in case that isn’t enough innovation, two chamfers are cut into the case flange supporting the bezel, and they act as drains to facilitate outflow of any water that may become lodged inside. The caseback is stamped with a diver motif that mirrors NEDU’s official emblem. A total of 21 micro gas tubes on the hour, minute and second hands and the dial provide optimal readout at any hour or depth. Chronograph measures up to 12 hour.
