ADOLFO Story ADOLFO sardina, best known as ADOLFO, began his successful fashion career in Paris as a milliner apprentice to balenciaga, a time when hat designers were accorded as much respect and attention as dress designers. American buyers admired his work and encouraged him to come to new york. In 1951 he became a designer for the milliner emme, where by 1955 he had received the coty fashion award for his innovative and often dramatic hat designs. In 1962 ADOLFO opened his own salon and began to design clothes to show with his hat collection. During this period, as women gradually began to wear hats less often, ADOLFOs hat designs became progressively bolder. His design point of view held that hats should be worn as an accessory rather than a necessity, and this attitude was carried over into his clothing designs as well. In 1969 he was presented with a special coty award for his contribution to design in the world of fashion. ADOLFO applied his concepts of fashion and design to the menswear business beginning in 1976 with a collection for the famous house leon of Paris. In the time ADOLFO has been in mens wear he has won much acclaim. Today his designs and inspirations are found in a full line of clothing and accessories. a person can look put together without appearing too rigid or too extravagant says ADOLFO. if people are astute enough to combine clothes with different accessories they can create their own fashion.
